Travel health checklist, what to sort before you fly

A practical list for medicines, documents and timing, with a focus on avoiding last minute problems.

A little planning makes travel much easier, especially if you take regular medicines. The aim is simple: carry what you need, prove what it is, and keep it within the conditions it requires.

Travel health checklist, what to sort before you fly

01Check your medicines early

Look at how many doses you will need for the trip, plus a small buffer in case of delays. If you use repeats, request them with enough time for ordering and checks.

If you have recently changed dose, make sure the pack you take matches the directions you are following now.

Pack with common sense

These are the most common issues we see when people pack in a hurry.

  • Keep medicines in original packaging with the label attached
  • Split supplies across bags if you are travelling with hold luggage
  • Bring a copy of your repeat list if you have one
  • Check storage needs, some items do not tolerate heat
  • Carry a small supply of basic pain relief and plasters

If you need advice, the easiest way to prepare

  1. 01

    Make a list

Write down your medicines and any allergies or conditions.

  2. 02

    Bring the packaging

If possible, bring labelled packs so we can confirm exactly what you take.

  3. 03

    Ask about timing

We can help you plan dose times if you are crossing time zones.
